Pavel Rudnev is a theatre critic, theatre manager, and play translator with a Ph.D. in Art History. In 1998 he graduated from Theatre Studies Faculty at GITIS Academy (Russian Academy of Theater Arts) under Natalia Krymova supervision. He has published more than 1,000 articles on the theatre in different titles. He is a member of Modern Playwriting editorial board and a member of the award panel of Eurasia and other drama awards. He holds a university extension course on drama criticism at GITIS Academy; he used to deliver lecturers at different colleges. He translated many plays by Martin McDonagh, Mark Ravenhill, James Patrick Donleavy, Ingeborg von Tsadov, Rob Becker, Mika Myllyaho, John Mighton, Morris Panych and others. From 2004 to 2011 he was the artistic director of Vsevolod Meyerhold Center.
